Siloe is one of the most beautiful and resilient neighborhoods of Cali, Colombia, but also, it has its story of social problems. It’s an area that has suffered perennial poverty, violence and limited access to basic services such as health and education.
Many families in Siloe have struggled to put food on the table and this has caused a vicious cycle of violence, unemployment and very few opportunities for the youth. Life in Siloe can be harsh, making it difficult for the residents to find their footing in such a close-knit community. Local field groups and churches sometimes fill these gaps, however there is a tremendous need for long-term and lasting solutions.
In June of 2025, Serve to Save along with Lighthouse ministries will be traveling to Cali, Colombia with the main goal of helping stablish a self-sustained project as a beacon of hope for Siloe and the region in general addressing the needs of not only the body, but the mind and spirit.
